COMMUNITY ROOM AT THE SHOP

The Community Room is open and available for coffee, to buy or exchange books, or to check the notice boards. Still best to avoid Tuesdays though as a big order comes into the shop so the space is needed until it can all be put on the shelves.

Village Fete 2022

By the time this Chimes comes out the Community room will be back to its normal use.  I will then put a box for donation of items for the Fete.  Please put anything you think we will be able to use for the bric-a-brac stall or bottlebola in there.  If the items are too large please let me know and I will arrange for them to be collected.  We have had some offers of help on the day but still need more especially on the bric-a-brac stall.

Postage Stamps

Corscombe collect used postage stamps and I have been asked if we could also collect them.  The used stamps are sold in bulk to Stamp dealers.   The rules are that they are sold by weight regardless of original value or country of origin.  The dealers will accept up to a quarter inch / 5-6mm surround of paper,  so for best value cut the stamps off the envelopes leaving that much margin of paper.  So do not soak off (lost value) & leaving more is not productive as someone here or at the Hospice will need to trim the surplus or risk the dealers noticing & rejecting that entire batch of stamps.  There is a receptacle in the Community Room for them.
